Well my fuel filter was on the left side of the Camaro, like behind the driver side under the car ofcourse. It shouldnt be that hard to find, it's pretty big.

the fuel filter is on the driver side of the undercarrage, about a foot in front of your left rear tire. you need a 5/8 and 11/16 wrench to get it off i think.

To clean your injectors, i would reinstall them, and get a can of 44k from your dealership. Its a fuel additive that cleans your entire fuel system.

If your car is fuel injected, you have to depressurize the fuel system first, pull the fuel pump fuse and try to start the car, it might start, if it does let it run until it quits, usually 2-3 seconds at the most, then be prepared to catch some gas when you take the filter off.

Or if you cant find the fuse like I did, take off the fuel pump relay which is wayyyyy up near the gas tank, then do what he said.

if you just wanna let it run and be dumb (like me...) it leaks like 1/4 a gallon of gas before its done.

the f/p relay should be located under the hood on the drivers side, rear engine area, on the upper part of the firewall.

under the rear of the car, up and in front of the tank. there is a connection that you could separate, and this would cut the power to the pump. but it may not come apart easily.

my system is not pressureized. my gas lines arent even connected, wait no i just got those connected tonight, but they stil arent pressurized, so will gas still come out? oh and this is my fuel filter right ---> http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/320275fuelfilter.jpg

True, if you dont replace also it can mess up your pump, making crap get in there.

gas goes thru the pump before the filter, not after.

Rally Sport 92 is right if he's referring to the strainer that goes on the end of the pump in the tank, it's another smaller filter, but normally you would only change it if you're putting in a new pump

The injectors in your 88, if like mine, are the Multec injectors and they do have problems. If yours are not working right, using FI cleaner might make the problem worse. I guess the electrical windings are not made to withstand the cleaner and you'll have problems, or worse problems afterwards.
