Can't access trunk.

I have a 92 Chevy Lumina with a broken trunk lock. It may actually be the strike plate. The key turns in the lock with no resistance, but a locksmith said he would have to take the seats out to fix it. He wanted too much money. I need some stuff out of my trunk ASAP and would like to take out the seats myself to save $$$. Can anyone tell me how to go about it and what tools I will need? Thanks.

Using the normal assortment of metric sockets, unbolt the seat from the floor of the car (two bolts on driver and passenger sides, under the edge of the seat). Unbolt the two retaining nuts that hold the seatback in place (you'll see them after removing the seat 'bottom') and lift up then out. From there you can also release the trunk for repair, though that's probably best left to a bodyshop...unless you know what you're doing, of course.
