Just wondering what i could do to run a little cooler, My friend told me i should get Cool air intake or intercooler.. but I dont know if that will help the engine from running hot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Change fluids.
Add a manual fan switch.

Or get some automatic fans that cost somewhere around 100.

a cold air intake will not lower your fluid temps, neither will an air intercooler.

before i give any suggestions, what temp is your car running at. 215 degrees F is normal for these cars. even 225 is not unheard of.

About 200 - 230 degrees, that only happens when i am not moving.. like traffic. Other than that when i am moving it stays cool.

It's fine, man. My Maro's fan kicks in when its 220ish, while my Monte's fans go in around 160. I guess thats just what degree thermo they have on em.

A cold air would make your car run cooler.....put one on mine and keeps it lower than stock.....220, usually unless its 200 degrees outside. Definately the Cold air.

Hm..maybe put some icecubes in your radiator, that'll make your fluids run cooler, do it for a race thouhg, lol. Once that heat get to em they'll melt real quick.

re-read my post, 200-230 is propor operating temperature.

there is nothing wrong with your car.

if you absolutely cant stand that, then get an aftermarket 180 or 160 degree thermostat.

i think my car has a lower temp, it never goes a degree over 180* even in 100 degree heat w/ ac on in traffic

hypertech makes a switch to make your fan kick on sooner, also a 160 degree thermostat like 89 mentioned, and what's the additive called? Is it Royal Purple???

you could also upgrade to a massive aluminum radiator, electric water pump, electric high flow shrouded fan, thermal coat your combustion chambers, exhaust ports, and headers, all of which will help the engine run cooler but you dont have to because its operating at the correct level.

Yeah, I was just making sure it wasnt a problem... I also like to stick to the saying " If it aint broke dont fix it." Because I always end up breaking something. Anyways, thanks for the help.
