no trucks on here? Well heres mine!

Hi, im nilla. Im 15 years old and im new to this forum (i just registered today) and this is my first post. While looking around the site I noticed that no one else was building custom trucks. I know that my projects arent as highly detailed as some that I have seen on this forum, but I always do mine up real clean.

Well here is one of my many trucks:

This is my '99 silverado. The exterior of the truck features a custom 2tone Dark blue and candy green over a metallic silver base paintjob. the front bumpers and been colormatched and the rear bumper is gone! I have replaced it with a custom made sheetmetal roll pan.
The truck acheived its low slung stance thanks to a simulated hydraulic suspension. The suspension and braking system are fully detailed and chromed out. The truck lays frame on the payment as you can see from the side shot. To accomodate the huge 24 inch chrome wheels, the wheel wells had to be cut from the engine bay. Everything in the engine bay is chromed out or painted.
In the bed of the truck, the old wheel wells and bed floor were cut out and replaced with custom made wheel wells and a step notch cover to accomodate the afforementioned wheels and rear suspension setup.
I upholstered the inside of the bed with a gray carpet Bed Rug. Also in the bed I have a custom painted speaker box equipped with 2 subs, 2 amps, 4 batteries, and 2 hydraulic pumps.
In the cabin of the truck I scrapped the stock seats in favor of new bucket seats that were salvaged from a wrecked shelby cobra model. The interior theme is gray and black. But the dash board and center console have been smoothed and painted in the same blue and green hue as the exterior. Direction changes are made via a steering wheel pulled straight out of an R 32 skyline.

Ahh gees...please rehost or somethin..I wanna see your trucks. Try searching in the completed seciton. There were a few really nice trucks mind you. Welcome to AF! :smile:

Yea, I can't see them either, use the AF gallery account that you have, or photobucket/imageshack.us to host and post the thumbnails so we can take a look. Sounds cool though.

not bad but never understood why you would own or build a truck you cant haul lumber in?!? they arent comfortable at all so why? sorry im a contractor and lowered trucks are just wierd to me but nice job all the same.

Well I dunno what your idea of highly detailed means but I think you have done a Very good job building and detailing your truck. Keep up the great work...

Thanks for the comments. I finally fixed my focus on my camera so I am gonna post some pictures of some of my other trucks.
And no, Im not JJ. But I do remember you off of an RC car forum. It might have been HPI or Car Action, not sure.

I love the paintjob on that blue/black chevy.

i just bought 99' silverado kit today and already started on some body mods (completely shaved doors and tailgate, making box all smooth around the tailgate including roll pan and shaved taillights..) ill gets pics up soon as i can get my cam back

A lot of cutting and tweaking. I usually tub the rear and C notch the frame I also cut off the front suspension and put it back on different angels to get it down. I also sometimes cut out the front wheel wells for more room. And sometimes I just cheet and glue the wheels in.

hey socal mark.. do you have any pics of ur c-notch u could post or send my way?.. im doin this 99 silverade and i wanna make it lay frame.. i already got my box cut and i just gotta get this c-notch done

The camera I have now takes crappy close ups, I won a new one on eBay. When I get it I'll take some pics. What I did was sand the frame until a small piece of tubing fit the frame over the diff. then cut off the exposed tubing leaving a C shaped notch in the frame.
