Upon Inital Start up, Temperature is Off scale Cold

The temperature indicator for the Engine when you initially start it up in the morning (even during spring/summer) is all the way to the edge of left side (past the C on the indicator. Once its starts and has gotten going, it heats up to normal temps, but that is wierd to me.
The other problems I have are ones mentioned by the previous posters, stuttering (no stalling since I had the engine rebuilt). It also shifts very hard between 30-40, and now stutters at constant speeds (not during acceleration). It is worst in overdrive. This most recent development occured when I almost ran out of gas (going up a hill to get to a gas station) and it stuttered and almost quite a couple times. I may have pushed it a little hard trying to get up the hill. It has recently been getting hard to start
A belt is also squelling, and looks a little rought, plan on replacing.
Also I have had to replace my radio, and now the HVAC header for my car as well. I suspect that my voltage regulator (which I apparently have one inside and one outside my alternator) is going.
