the engine you're getting doesn't happen to have a TBI manifold does it? If it does, you shouldn't have any problems (besides needing larger injectors, different computer/chip)
If it doesn't, you have three options:
1) find a TBI intake for an engine pre-'87, (maybe ebay, but they are not that abundant)
2) get heads from an '87-'95 350 engine.
3) last resort - the problem (as 89IROC&RS said) is that the two center-most bolt holes on either side are at different angles than those in your heads - you could modify these to match the angles in the head, but it won't look pretty, and if your not careful you may have a problem getting the intake to seal properly.

that pretty much covers it, what exactly is your engine coming from? cuz also, you arent gonna gain anything from a smog era 350 in place of the 305 you have now. Unless you do some serious modifications and upgrades to the engine before you install it. If that is the case, you could chose any heads you wanted, including installing the heads off your TBI 305 and solve the bolt hole problem.

or u could be smart like i was and buy a holley tbi adaptor plate that will let u put a throttle body on almost any sbc intake ever made
seems to work just fine for me, at least when i am not having gay electrical problems

you can have the intake manifold bolt holes elongated by a engine machine shop. they know what they're doing.

well the reason i ask about the specifics of the engine you are getting for free is that the smog era engines had really low, say 8.5:1 compression pistons. If thats what you are working with, you might be able to use the 305 heads to bring the compression up to more performance oriented level. and then you could run the factory TBI setup without having to modify anything. Id have to crunch the numbers to give you anything specific, but i dont see why it wouldnt work.
