Stay, use the SEARCH button, read up on the various posts before going and asking questions. We are all willing to help, but we cant just break down and spend days writing up a swap how to, just because you asked... understand? :flash:

check it out sparky I gots a Q for yah. Aight I just got my hands on ayummy b16 out of a 97 delsol with 38k on it for 1700.00, thats everything you can think of axles, engine, tranny, ecu all and then some. Now I want to do the swap. Now my knowledge of cars is extensive on hondas but not handson wise. Meaning I have all the facts but no experience. Also is the 97 delsol obd2? Im sure it is so now what do I do? I got it for a killer price and it is sitting in my basement waiting for its unleashment to my sol. If I go buy a helms n get an engine lift will I be aight? I really would like to say I put it in myself rather then paying someone. I mean its not a money issue cause I had 4k saved for it so I just am in need of some info.... ANYONE's info but especially sparky's lol..........

the biggest bitch in swapping isnt the actual installation of the motor into the engine bay itself its making sure all the wiring is right. like making sure you hook up the knock sensor if your new motor has one and the old one doesnt or the vtec wire etc. putting axles in is a bitch too...i hate suspension shit though so im biased. then troubleshooting after you install it because something always seems to go wrong or is broke. honda parts guys will come to learn you by your first name. just take your time an hook up all the universal things like vacuum lines and what not and make a list of the special things you need to do for your particular swap then check them off as you complete them. also having the factory manual for your car and for the car inw which was the donor is always nice.
god knows we have needed it in my buddies crx that we are converting into a manual from an auto countless times and he refuses to get it so we sit there all night with a paperclip and test each individual wire with others in the same plug to figure out how to get around things like getting the key out and starting the car with the clutch in only and changing an auto cluster to a manual cluster.....its a royal pain in the ass
