GSR slow?

I just rode in a B18C1 integra for my first time tonight and I had a bit of fun but it was kind of dissapointing. He had his check engine light on so that might be part of it, but he was pushing it to 8k rpm and shifting hard and it seemed hardly as fast as my D15B CRX. I don't believe VTEC was even engaging so that might be a part of it. I'm really into the 4th gen civics, but what does a GSR 4 door run these days on average 1/4 mile? (working properly that is).

A GSR in good working order should be hands down faster than the 4th Gen Civics you're used to. I don't know what they run in the 1/4 mile off hand, but i would say somewhere in the 14's.....maybe??

His might also feel slow since it's a 4dr.....i have the coupe.

stock 2 doors are around 15.3, I agree with the 15.5 for 4 doors. They have about 100 more lbs. on them when compared to the 2 door GSRs.

It has more power it's just probably the weight that makes it feel so different.

That check engine light could be a #of things, something insignificant or something putting the engine into a "limp" mode or whatever. It also matters if the engine has a good maintenance history.

yeah, I'm used to OBD0 systems so I forgot that sometimes an engine check doesn't always put the engine in limp mode. The amount of power the engine puts out I could defintely feel...much better burn outs than my 100hp econo engine.
