lost in my engine

I have a few questions. But let me give you some history...
First, I recently bought a 1992 Acura Intergera from a performance shop- the engine in the car, so I was told, was not repairable. So I purchased another engine, and took it to the shop. After, I got a funnny feeling. He had told me that the old engine was worthless and he was going to trash it. Later that night I thought about what he had said and realized that I wanted to keep the engine. I called him and left a message and told him not to trash the engine because I had wanted it. Shortly after, his interest was dead. Bringing me to think about my funny feeling. That they wanted that engine for themselves. Now for the questions... He says I have a GSR transmission and a regular B16A engine,
1. How can I tell if my B16A engine is a GSR and not just a regular VTec?
2. What causes a valve and pistons to seize together? Could the previous owner have been so called spraying it?
3. Can an engine with a seized piston and valve be repaired? And what do you think is an estimated price for that? Or how much would it be worth as is, if it is a GSR?
I know this may be a lot, but if you get to the bottom of this then I know you care, because I am lost in my F$!%@# engine. PLEASE HELP!!!! I made this as entertainig as possible so You wouldn't have to feel the pain that I have endured.
Thank You!
