Oil leak question

I am looking at a late 80's eagle talon turbo at a local impound yard. I startred it up and it runs rough but stable, and there is a small hole in the valve cover that I have no clue what it's for... there is oil leaking rapidly from it when the car runs. Presently there is a golf tee plugging it to stop the leak. any idea if this hole was supposed to be there as a pressure blow off - filled with a rubber grommet, or is this hole possibly the result of an internal engine part punching its way outta there?

Late 80's = 1989 first year of the eclipse/talon
That sounds fucked up. Personally, I wouldn't even bother with that POS. I doubt that hole was supposed to be there if oil is spilling out of it that easily. Go and find something a little newer, you will be better off, unless your into rebuilding engines and shit. Good luck.

Hope you find something worth your time and money. These cars definately won't let you down in the satisfaction category. However you will get some headaches, your wallet may get a little slimmer, and you will be cursing the word dealership, but after all is said and done, you won't care. Your driving a DSM baby. That's all that matters. :grinyes:
