i always suggest that you match your stereo system, be it pioneer, sony, alpine, infinity or what. Miss matching system parts never really work all that well together. If you got Pioneer speakers, then i suggest getting more pioneer speakers and a pioneer head unit. You wont need an amp if you get a nice enough head unit, but if you want a amp for whatever reason then a pioneer four channel amp will do you quite nicely.

lol, no harm, it will still work. i still suggest you match the speakers at least. as far as weather you should match the amp to the head unit or the speakers, i leave that up to people who know more about stereo stuff than i do.

What I did in my car is I have a pioneer head unit with the 6x9 4 way speakers. I left the front factory speakers in tact but set up some 100 watt dome tweeters. Basically all of my highs are running on a 300 watt MTX amp. If you plan on getting some beat buy some 6x9's that will play your highs good dont worry about bass, 4 way speakers are good for this and from what I know sony speaker explode so stay away from them. One 12 sounds good in these cars because the glass keeps all on the bass inside and less trunk rattling.

lol... that's hilarious. sony's speakers do not explode... sony gives the name "Xplod" to all of their car audio equipment. I don't normally recommend sony speakers, for several reasons, but head units are okay (I have one).

Anyway... you do want to match the brand of speakers you have... different brands have different tonal values and so mix-matchin won't sound the best. don't need to brand match the amps or head unit.

I have 2 Apline amps, 4 channel and 2ohm monoblock for sub.... Infinity reference 4x6 in front, 6x9 in back, and Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1d sub in back. sounds clean as hell... very low distortion, I can only hit half volume before it gets painful.

Have my people (at Circuit City) recommend you an amp, as matching them to speakers can be more complicated that I want to type. 2 subs are not necessary in camaros unless you want earth shattering bass. just buy one good one... 10 or 12.
you may need bigger alternator or capacitor if you plan on having a lot of power (i.e. more than 600watts total)... as I explain in this post http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=421630

sony xplod speakers are prefectly fine so long as your not pushing them past their maximum safe wattages. i have been running xplods in my RS just fine and was perfectly happy with the improovment over stock sound quality, and that was with a POS jenson head unit. and am building a complete system for my IROC.

ive had the same pioneer head unit for like a year, but its at least 2 years old because my brother ahd it before me. I had 4 pioneer speakers in my last car, and it sounded great. but now i have to get new speakers, so ill get pioneers cuz they are "cheap" but sound good. i already have a 12" rockford sub and some amp, sounds great. you dont really need to amp your speakers, but its your choice
