Car Running Lean

Hi,

I own a 2001 Integra Gsr, and im getting trouble code 45, Car running lean/rich. My modifications are catback exhaust, DC 4-1 header (non Jdm), Aem Cold Air, and Integra type r intake/exhaust cams. My engine light comes on, i've reset it a couple of times and it just keeps coming back after a couple of days. I've had my air/fuel ratio tested with a wideband 02 sensor and the dyno operator said that my car wasn't running lean enough to be dangerous, even though the computer is detecting so. My question is: would a fuel pressure regulator solve this problem, or would it just cause me to run rich at another part of the powerband? Also when the engine light comes on does my car go into a dummy "limp home" mode causing me to lose power. Any help would be appreciated.

first there is a problem this is not norma. next i would make sure my map and o2 sensors are in working order. o2 sensors will cause you to either run rich or lean.. when a vehicle runs lean there is a greater chance of detonation, wich will lead to premature engine failure....to rich has the chance of fowling valves and a great amount of carbon build up. take your car to an acura dealer and explain the problem and let them read the code. they fix these cars for a living just my 2cents

Hi,

Thanks for the info, but if anything my car is running lean right? I've increased airfolow and im igniting it with the same amount of fuel. Will Acura even be able to diagnose the problem given that my car is not to stock specifiaction.

Believe me they will know. i have intake, exhaust, high flow cat, header, pullies, ported head, milled .035, 74mm throttle body, poted intake manifold, dual valve springs, stainless steel retainers, B&M Fpr, and AEM fuel rail (for looks).... and my car is running ALMOST stock fuel pressure. it is like 1or2 psi over. All hondas come from the factory running a little rich not too much to foul valves but rich enough to give long engine life...if there is a problem with a sensor they will find it. take it to a dealer. when ever i have any problems like that or need routine matinence i take it to the closest dealer. Modding 4 cylinders is not a new thing, and it is growing very very fast. Everybody is now making after market parts, and some of these parts dealers will put on. this is not something new to them.
