97 voyager charging system.

Hey All,

I have encountered an electrical problem and I'm not sure which way to turn.
First, something drained the battery pretty much all at once.
After charging the battery, the climate control "leds" are flashing.

I have also noticed that the a/c will not turn off with the a/c button.

You can only turn off the a/c by turning the fan to off.

All the other buttons on the climate control work properly.

Also, I am not sure that I'm getting a full charge from the alternator,
but it checks good on the machine.

My voltmeter says 13.3 vdc
Sounds kinda low to me.

I now have noticed that if you drive the van for approx 30 min, the a/c lites stop flashing and operate properly.
The instant you stop the engine, and turn the key back on, they start flashing again.

The flashing heater/ac panel means you had a power failure and the unit just needs to be reprogrammed:

The a/c and wiper functions will flash for 15 minutes each time the car is started, then go out and work normally after the battery has been disconnected for 30+ minutes.

Solution: (to reprogram control panel)

1) Set BLOWER to HIGH
2) Set MODE to PANEL
3) Set TEMP to COLD
4) Press WASH and REAR WIPER simultaneously,
Hold for 5 seconds.

Lights will flash
When done, the REAR WIPER should be the only one flashing.
5. Press REAR WIPER to EXIT

Followed directions and it took care of the problem.
