hhmm. no r6? and no kwak neither? the 600r wouldn't be in the same category as the double r and the gixxer. honestly they both are great high performance bikes, it's more of a matter of preference such as company rep and/or bike styling.

600 is perfect for your size. I have a couple of friends your size. One started on a Ninja 250 and traded it in 4 months later for a gixxer 6. The other went straight into a zx 6r, and is doing just fine.

An older 600 sports bike isn't to bad to start out on. Actually, 2 weeks ago I just bought my first bike. It is a 93 CBR 600 F2, and I love it to death! The intimidation factor (as far as acceleration) isn't bad until you start getting above 7-8k rpms. So I would start out easy on it, and slowly move your way into the powerband as soon as you get more exp. The best advice I can give you is just to not be stupid when driving it, or it WILL bite you in the ass. And, always wear a helmet. I don't care how hot it is outside, your head is worth it. Anyways, good luck on your pursuit. Later
