broken motor mounts

I just found out that my 97 gmc jimmy has one broken motor mount, and the other one is falling apart. I'd like to replace the mounts as soon as possible, and I'm going to buy the parts tomorrow, but i was just wondering if anyone has ever done it before, and if so, what does it entail, and is it even something someone with very little mechanical knowledge could do? Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

It isn't too bad really.I do recommend you use a engine hoist or something similar because if you use just a jack you may damage the oil pan.

When you put the new ones it, cut the lower ear off that's facing the rad support so that next time it won't be so difficult.
