UPDATE: its been a while...

hey guys, its been god knows how long since the last time i updated u on my car. sorry bout that, i quickly get lazy i guess... the new camera fun wore off quick, but instantkevin asked me about it and i figured it was time to tell people bout it again.

just about everything was finished, went to start it up, and all it did was turn over, didn't fire or stumble or anything. we checked spark, which we did have so we went to injectors. figuring this engine had set for upwards of 2 years we decided to get new injectors, and invested in some 30lb ones. but before the injectors came in we bought a fuel pressure gauge and found out that my fuel pump was putting out 24psi of pressure, when my engine needs somewhere around 45psi. so that is what we believe the problem is... as of right now the exhaust, heat shields, part of the rear suspension and the rear axle have been dropped. we got the new pump in yesterday and put it in along w/ a new sender unit (old one was bad). but we didn't have enough time yesterday to put the tank back up. i worked all day today and my dad still isn't home from work yet so we didn't get anything done today. tomorrow we will be putting everything back together. maybe even trying to fire her up (we shall see). but here are some pics of my engine bay and some other things.

very clean... i like it. seems like you thought of just about everything. never seen power steering lines ran thru radiator, interesting. is that a factory rear end?? do you expect it to hold up? I'm tryin to figure out what I'm gonig to put in place of my factory limited slip (can't afford to spend even the small bucks now).

what are you doing for exhaust?
thinking about painting your fluid resivoirs?
also, i've read that the T-5 doesn't last long above 300hp... doing anything with that?

you should get the first startup on video (with your digital camera) like I did, so that we can see it.

well we had all the exhaust up until we had to drop the tank to get to the pump... its a 3in random technology catalytic converter, and 3in flowmaster american thunder catback. the tranny is a t56, the car used to be an automatic. i'm not sure what u mean about painted the fluid resevoirs... the rearend is off of the same car that i got the engine and tranny from, its a 3.42 posi 10-bolt... i don't plan on getting slicks or anything so i hope it will hold up... i also to plan on doing any high rpm clutch dumps.

then again, it is a cammed lt1... i'm not sure how long the rear end will hold, i'll just baby her a bit till i can afford a tougher one... may just get a new rear housing cover, i've heard those help in the strenght department

we'll have to see about the video, got a feeling i'll be running all over the place making sure nothing is falling apart or leaking and i won't be able to video tape anything...

dang that is kick ass. wish i could have afforded to do all that to my camaro, but instead im stuck putting a remanufacrtured 2.8 to replace my ruined 2.8. but hey im gona sell my camaro once i fine a new camaro to buy.....a faster one, enless this new 2.8 ends up being fast, well faster then the old. but anyways i like your car thats awesome. get someone else to videotape it while you run al over the place :iceslolan

Girdle cover, stronger axle's, and welding the axle tubes all the way around, aftermarket posi/lsd, stronger axle's, stronger ring and pinion. According to a TGO tech article those are what's needed to allow that 10-bolt to hold up to running slicks.

that's the girdle cover i'm planning on purchasing, part no. SME-8510400

oh shit... yea i forgot you have a t-56. that's a bad muthaf*ka! you should be scared of it. I'm a little scared of mine (but maybe I'm just a p*ssy... lol). that is what a camaro should be. thanks for building it.

these are my painted fluid resovoirs

the radiator wasn't in there... it's the A/C condensor... and it's just dirty. you can't really clean the backside of it when the radiator is in there. and the black holes are the tabs for the tranny cooler in front of it.

Do any of you have working ashtray lamps in your cars?

I don't know if kevin's came with it, but bag91 and drvngstorm's do.

If you don't know what i'm talking about, take a look underneath your center dash vents and you'll see it. Mine never worked from day one, and I never knew it was there until Tacoma Man discovered it in his. I went to the dealer today for a replacement but it's a discontinued part that you can't get anywhere. So what i did was pulled the cover off and exposed the bulb and i'm gonna solder in a LED. I'll get some photo's of that whole deal so you can see what i'm talking about.

i have that light...and it works too. I found it about a year and a half ago by accident when it shined on my hand at night. it's so dim that you wouldn't notice it unless you are very close to it.

my rearview lights have never worked, and i haven't taken the time to investigate.
