Hey,

I'm upgrading the speakers in my 94 talon, but i'm having trouble with the door panels and the rear panels. I've tried to figure it out, and look on the internet--at least now I can take a door panel off of a G2... but not a G1.

I've taken out 3 screws on the right, 2 in that little cup (not sure if I even needed too) and taken all of the clips out, but it seems that there is one thing i'm missing around the door handle. Any ideas?

Also, how do I take out the read panels? do i really need to take the back seat out, or can I just take the screw out and pop it out?

Thanks guys
-daniel

you arre really confusing me... when you saay g1 you mean 1st gen (1g) right? And to take the door panel off you have to take a screw out above the handle. It is covered by a little square screw coverer. Take that screw out and take the handle out and then if you have all of the outer screws/retainers out it should come out. As for the back panels, you have to take out the bottom of the seats(or simply move it over temporarily for the screw at the bottom) but not the backrests/top of the seats, just fold them down.
Also, I am curious what speakers are you putting in there?

I haven't really decided on what speakers im getting yet-- crutchfield says that my back speakers are not 6x9's, but it looks otherwise.

I like the blaupunkts-- very cheap and also very sensitive (92db), which is what i need if i dont have an external amp.

waddya think? Any suggestions?

I've got 4 eminances they are really good speakers but I have them on an amp I don't know if that was what you were going to do but eminances sound really good and are really loud if you want them to be. My friend had 4 on a 400w amp and they sounded great. I have them and my dash speakers on a 750w amp and again they sound great. I was planning on getting maybe 2 8" eminances but now i'm thinking more about bass. Did you already have that one screw out or was that the one you were forgetting?

There was a little plastic square to the right of the door panel-- hard plastic. I figured that's where the power locks would have gone or something, but I assume there is a little screw hidden in there. I haven't tried that though because it's dark now.

I'm still undecided about a subwoofer though. I'm thinking nothing fancy-- just 1 10" (maybe a kappa perfect) on a 400w Clarion amp. But that will be later.

Yea I don't want to much either I was thinking either a 10 or get 2 8's and a 10 and make a nice enclosure but if you didn't get that screw out that is the one holding the door probably. I remember having a similar problem with my door and then I looked up through the bottom and there was a bolt or something i'm not 100% good luck gettin it off of there
