exhaust downpipe intercooler pipes intake bov manual boost controller

i have a turboxs manual boost controller i hooked up a couple weeks ago. i also have a megan racing boost gauge. everythings hooked up. i just redid my boost controller so its going straigt from the turbo to the controller to the wastegate. it has always spiked a couple lbs of boost when i step on it all the way, and then dropped back down. even after i changed the setup of the controller, it still spikes a couple lbs. it spikes to about 16, then drops to about 13. should i leave it like this. can spiking still hurt the turbo, because i know 16 is the max i can do right now, or should i turn it up where it spikes past 16 but then goes back down to 16.

It wont hurt anything, since the spiking occurs at low rpm where the turbo and fuel system can easily support the added boost. Turboxs MBCs are somewhat famous for wanting to spike.

it probably spikes around 3000-4000 rpm, so i should just turn it up to where the constant boost is 16 and disregard the spiking?

Yes, that is what I would do.

I'll just add that it's fine for now on a t25 but the bigger the turbo the more critical it is to be able to control boost. thats why electronic boost controllers are more popular with the big turbo guys

I Think they are even less popular. I ran the t67 on an MBC with no problems. The thing to remember is that the larger the turbo the less likely it is to spike. The cause of boost spikes is the WG or Boost conrollers inability to react quickly enough to rising boost. The smaller the turbo, the faster boost rises, the harder it is for the BC to "catch" it. Even with the profec it took some dialing in to get the T25 to not spike. On larger turbos I never had a problem. Going to stiffer vacuum line helps too. I run 1/4" reinforced fuel injection line rather than vacuum line for all boost control/WG related plumbing.

I don't even get a spike with my t25 i just doesn't go up to 16
