AC Compressor goes off hwen coolant heats up

I have just imported a 2001 venture to Kuwait. The AC is excellent but, I noticed thatg when the coolant temporature goes above the halfway mark the compressor seems to cut off momentarily, until the coolant temp goes down a little then it starts again. Is this common?


or is it that the AC compressor switches off and on every niw and then

It could be that the computer is shutting down the A/C until the system can handle the extra heat. It it HOT over there?
