Will my 383 stroker with 485 hp bolt on easily to a turbo 400 tranny? If so I'd like to know how hard the installation would be on a scale of 1-10, 10 being hardest.

the difficulty would depend on what type of car, and what kind of engine, 383 stroker is just displacement... is it EFI or carb? anyway, a turbo 400 will line up just fine w/ ur engine no problems at all.

EFI won't affect your tranny (not to my knowledge). You don't need electronically controlled shifting. I think you are really asking if it will hold the power okay. I don't know if it will. Is it stock? someone else might be able to help with that.

The cross-member that holds the tranny up and the driveshaft is what you should be concerned about. mounting locations on the tranny and length of driveshaft. if the car originally came with the 400 then you should have no problem.

A TH 400 will bolt up to a small block just fine and it should easily hold up to the power you are intending to throw at it, however HP numbers mean nothing where a transmission is concerned, Torque is what kills them.
If you have an EFI set up with a cable driven speedo you'll have no issues with the computer (just disable the TCC in the prom programming). now if you have a later electric speedometer, you are going to have troubles.
Do some looking around on thirdgen.org, several people have done a TH350 swap and a few have done the 400. You'll need a trans mount, different tail housing for the torque arm mount and possibly some driveshaft work and shifter locating fabbing to do.
