Looking into a Cavalier

I am looking into getting a 2000- 2004 Cavalier. I want the one with the most aftermarket engine components. I am having trouble finding one with the 2.4L in it. Almost everyone that I have come across is a 2.2L. Is the z-24 the only one with the 2.4L? Any help telling me what to look for would be appreciated.

I cant speak for 2000- 2002 because I havent read much about them, but the 2003 and 2004 are going to be 2.2 because they have the new Ecotec engines in them. It might only be the Z-24 I am not sure though.

im not quite sure yet but chances are that the ecotec (2003-2005) cavaliers are going to have a large lineup of aftermarket parts..they already have a supercharger and turbocharger...BUT the engine is fairly new and there hasnt been enough time to say how this engine handles over a peroid time and what will happen to it...i have a 2001 and i can find anything for it i just have to look more into it then i would for a Z24 or ecotec..but i can still modify it..and yes the 2.4L only comes with the Z24 hence the badge Z2.4

Z24s were only made up to 02. If you want a Z you'd have to get a 00-02 cav. In 02 they also made a 4 door Z with the 2.4 in it, and also a 2.2 Ecotec. Then in 03 thru 05 they only used the 2.2 Ecotec. The Ecotec runs with 140hp stock and the Z is 150 stock. I'm sure there will be a good bit of aftermarket parts for the Ecotec...especially since they are using the ecotec in cobalts too.
