best exhaust

what is the best cat-back exhaust at the cheapest price. but not something thats tooooo loud, but with a nice rumble

I like the Greddy Evo II. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for in terms of quality.

Apexi N1... I'd say its probably louder than the GReddy EVO2, but its a top quality exhaust and flows better than any other system for the Prelude. It angles to the right side of the car which creates better flow. You can get one cheap for $450 at www.optionimports.com

i'd say the N1 is best if you're looking for the most gains. but it is on the loud side and IMO, not the best sounding. depends on what it is you're looking for. sound or gains. unfortunately it's one or the other. the N1 does come with a silencer for daily driving.

i would also suggest the mugen (if you have the $$$) or thermal. both more restrictive than the N1 but both are qualify systems and sound nice.

It's not necessarily true that you need to sacrifice sound for performance. The RSR Exmag provides the same gains as a Greddy system and is only slightly louder than stock. AcesHigh has one, and he said there were gains over his stock system as well as over his 2.5" custom setup. I'd say that's the best choice if you're looking for both worlds, unless you want to spend the money for a Mugen.

I dont know about that, I've heard a GReddy EVO2 with a CAI and Headers and it sounded ricey as hell. Even though its a little loud, the N1 sounds nice and clean. :thumbsup:

I guess it's all personal preferance on the sound, but I think they both sound ricey as hell. If you want some sound, I'd go with a Thermal R&D. I haven't heard it on a lude, but I heard it on a civic and it didn't sound bad at all. If you want to keep it quiet and still get gains, RSR Exmag or Apexi WS are supposed to be the quietest. Again, it's all your personal preferance, but I think 75% of the exhausts out there sound like garbage.

I have the Greddy EVO 2 on my 4th gen prelude and it does not sound "ricey" as mentioned above. It gives a good tone without the fart can pop. I dont know if its due to my other mods or not but it isnt what i would call quiet.....
