V6 Owners don't despair!

Okay, so I figured that this was worth noting. I have looked around for information on good performance mods for the 3.8 Series V6 firebirds. I've just about come up with diddly squat except for a few things like the Virus and Pathogen Project V6's that are running some nice Centrifugal Superchargers and pretty impressive power. I haven't tried to contact these guys yet and figure out what all they did to their engine, but they lay it out pretty well for those who could figure it out with some research and knowhow. I started thinking I should check the Aussies out, as they tend to be known for some outrageous stuff even in the GM land of Holden (The creators of the 'new' GTO if ya didn't know).
Forced Induction Technologies (http://www.v6supercharged.com.au/index.asp) is possibly the best lined up site for performance mods to the GM 3.8 V6 so far. This is geared solely for the Supercharged L67 Spec engines. You'll have to read through some of the stuff they pull in these cars on the track. Just breeze through it and you'll find some really nice goodies, including their Turbo Test Mule that was running somewhere in the 11's in a big, heavy assed Commodore on street tires.
This is the stuff I am really looking into, and I like the intake design for the supercharged engines, very worthy application even on a firebird. Just an expensive route around getting an LT-1 or LS-1, but damn the bragging rights for pulling off a mod like this and getting it to hunt and grunt.
Check the site guys, it even has some nifty vids...

Well of course. There are always people modding out the 3.8's.. but no one ever has the balls to tackle the 3.4. It pisses me off, I very seldomly find a site that actually sells performance parts for my car. The only one I've run across is Full Throttle Performance (http://ftpp.net). And even still, there's a downside to them. I ordered my Pacesetter headers back on the 6th.. and stil haven't gotten them.

That's a real bummer! The biggest problem I find is the big 3.8 mods are geared for the Grand Prix and Grand Am, so they're relatively incompatible with the F-Body engine layout. If I could score my hands on a Aussie Holden intake as seen on the site, or just fab one myself, I'd get all over it. It's relatively plug and play if you have the ECU and all the other electronic goodies. But I'd defenitely upgrade that bloody auto cocker of a transmission I have
With my engineering classes starting up again this semester, I am going to fight to find more information on the possibility of a final project in my last year (whenever that happens). I might go for broke and do a 'Stage' test of the modifications to display the good/bad/bumping ugly of modifying an engine for higher output. I know I will have to document every little bit, but that might make it easier in the end to make it public knowledge or give the possibilty of opening up a speed shop in our area. The majority of 'performance' shops in this town consist of adding lamborghini hinges to Chrysler 300s or making body kits that look like a cheese grater instead of a front bonnet :icon16:

Or of course you could go for the Monte Carlo. I'm really pissed at GM and their shift from the F-bodies to whatever little campaign that is going on now with the huge damned fleet of FWD vehicles :SNORE:

My 2001 Grand Am GT has a 3.4. All GT's until 2005 have that 3400 in them, not the 3.8. :icon16:
