True 7000K or 8000K REAL HID Group Buy

whats HID?

High Intensity Discharge (HID) is the next generation in lighting. It makes your headlight light 3 times brighter than stock halogen bulbs. HID capsules (bulbs) do not use filaments to produce the light, like stock bulbs. Light is produced by the conduction of two electrodes enclosed in a gas filled capsule. This process makes the light source burn much cooler than halogen bulbs. Since there is not filament, you can never burn out the filament, thus HID will last more than the life of any car. In addition, it only uses 35w of power compared to 55w halogen bulbs. The color on the light is much whiter, bluer, crisper, and much much brighter. This will give better lighting for night time driving, reduce eye strains/fatigue, and safer. There are a lot more info on the web. If you have a chance, you should do some research.

Let me know if you want to get one. For $399, it's a steal. I found a local shop that offered the same kit for $569 plus tax. They wanted to charge another $50 for installation. I told them I could do it myself. :D

The effective life of an HID bulb is around 2000 hours, as compared to around 250 hours for regular halogen.
Do not confuse the brightness (7000k, 8000k) on the HID bulb ratings with the filament tempature on the fake HID bulbs sold at Walmart, Pepboys and other fine racing shops. A 7000k HID bulb is incomparable to a 7000k fake HID. The HID will always be more than three times brighter with a more even canopy of light. The kelvin rating (k) is the color of the light. I find that the slightly purple bulbs (6000-7000k) are the brightest. Since blue is the lowest visable wavelength of light, the bluer the output, the less you can see. 8000k seems a tad bluer and less visable output on the road than the 6000-7000k HIDs. A higher kelvin is not a brighter bulb, it's a different color.
