Racing?

Hello Everyone,
I was discussing the topic of racing with my boyfriend and we had very differing ideas of racing.
I believe that a true race consists of an open stretch of roadway containing enough road to brake properly and that does not contain restraining stop lights. Some examples may be racing locations such as Moroso Speedway.
My boyfriend believes that there is no distance requirement to classify it a race. He feels that a quarter mile distance from one stop light to the next is just as sufficient road space as a mile long roadway without distrubances.
Please respond in your belief as to what a true race is?
Thanks.
Monica

I think that a true race and the details of the race should be decided my the two or more drivers before the race is ran. but thats just me.

u'r both right
different cars are built for different type of racing. I prefer Drag racing...and it is more fun on the streets than on the track.
