Ok, first off, after a few days of drunkenness I got back to working on my injector circuit issue. Got my new wheels, they are on, looking good. I find the trouble-causing wire, so I cut that wire at the injector harness. Then I find that #4 injector is connector 15 on the ECU, so I cut that there as well. I then run an entirely new wire from the harness to the ECU. Problem solved right? Well I check with my volt-o-meter or whatever they are called...and the problem wire no longer shows any voltage...which is a good thing. So I'm thinking problem is now solved...or is it? I let the car idle for 20mins...no CEL.
However my downpipe leak has gotten louder and more obnoxious. I take the car for a 3 mile spin for gas. It sounds like crap which I attribute to the downpipe, but it also accelerates rather slow. So I figured I need new plugs as the #4 plug is probably ruined from all this extra fuel. So I'm thinking, well it still needs some work, but at least I fixed one problem. Nope, I was wrong. Right as I'm finishing filling up my tank, the CEL comes on. Now I had been fueling while my turbo timer was on, so I'm praying that maybe it was just a CEL for the open fuel cap. I drive to Autozone with no noticeable differences. Get there, run the code and it's the same damn injector 4 circuit open. So I whip out the voltometer, and it's still showing no voltage. SO WHAT SENSE DOES THAT MAKE?
I don't think I cut the wrong wire, it ran for 20+ mins and 3 miles without having the CEL, and then when it does come on, voltometer still shows no current...meaning it's closed (car off, key 'ON')
If the ECU were damaged, I'd assume it would be a permenant thing, and that other injectors would be effected. I guess it could be an intermittant problem with the actual connector in the injector...but why would running a new wire have changed anything if that were the case?
I see no logic behind this...does anybody else?
