Scratches in glass

Lately I've been doing some exterior work to my truck, and would like to know how I could, if possible, fix some scratches in my driver side window. The last owner of my truck took it in the woods and the window has a huge section of medium-depth scratch marks. Is there a way to get these out? Thanks for any help, I'm getting my liscense tomorrow and would like to see out my window when I start driving (It also looks like crap).

You could try glass polish.

That's a good idea. It might just work if I can buff them out with polish.

try buffing them with toothpaste.

Toothpaste? Sounds like it might work pretty well. I'll give it a shot later, if that doesn't work, I'll try the polish. Thanks for the ideas guys, it really helps me out. :)

toothpaste works like a really fine rubbing compound. Use a buffer if you have one and keep it moving. Keep checking it as you go. If you stay in one spot too long you'll get a blemish in the glass.
