its past time i got my car lowered a bit...i happen to have the money to do it right now, so my question is this....
what are good coilovers to get? i keep hearing GC is great...what about skunk2?
anyone have any places i can order some GCs or Skunk2s for a good price? i see GCs on GBC.com for 269...and skunks for like 289...does the skunk2 brand warrant another 20 bucks?
also dont wanna ride w/ the stock shocks...so im gonna need a set of those too....whats a good, but cheap brand to get? got a link to some?
as for camber, thats a big thing for me... (i dont want to be one of "those" people....drop their car, INCORRECTLY, and go through tires like water.... i heard of a "washer trick" for the rear..im assuming you would put washers in the rear, but what about the front? is this the stupid way of doing it, or would it work fine? whats a decent yet cheap camber kit i can get, and where would i get it?
overall, what is the expected price for a decent setup, including shocks (again, not the BEST BRAND, but a good, but cheap brand) GC, or skunk2 coilovers, and a camber kit.
any help would be greatly appreciated...i wanna order this stuff soon.
intended drop/purpose, is going to be probably 2-3 inches, mostly just for looks on my daily driven 92CX. i dont mind a little bit of a bouncy ride, but im not investing in an amusement park ride either....whats a good spring rate?
Thanks a ton!

Ground control is better than Skunk2 IMO, but people will probably tell you the opposite too. Get and ingalls camber kit off GBC for the front, they do the job. As for the rear, my website has the walkthrough.

Shocks, you get what you pay for. As for cheap aftermarket ones, I run Tocikco blues and are only slightly better than stock. I got all 4 for $260. If you can, go for Koni yellows, everybody says their good but I have no personal experience with them. So take that for what it's worth After everything is installed, get an alignment so everything is in spec and you don't wear the tires down.
My cost list
GC coilovers: $300
Tockico shocks: $260
Ingalls camber kit: $130
Rear camber: $5
Alignment: $70
Total: $765

I got my stuff from wholesalehyperformance.com and it was around $600 not including shipping becuase I drove over there and picked them up. I've seen my shocks and my ground controls on GBC.com . So getting them from there would be your best bet. So basically, I say GC's would be the best for you, and as for shocks you should go with the tokico blues. If you had a little more money I'd tell you to get Koni yellows, that's what I wanted. It's all good though.

are you planning on raising and lowering your car all the time? remember everytime you do you have to have it realigned so 70$ everytime you change.

no, not really. well, not at the start atleast, i plan on stting it at a good height for this area, then perhaps lowering it more when i move back down to charlotte (NC roads are nicer than these!)
another question, im thinking about maybe just ordering the GC coilovers, and sticking them on the stock shocks for awhile..unless i find some shocks somewhat soon. my funds have dwindled dramatically since i had started planning for this project (decided to pay off a couple delinquant tickets...75 dolla speeding ticket in massachusettes which came out to 165 after the late fees...[got it on jan 26th, paid it on april 17th - heh] and then a right-on-red in a no-right-on-red that was 100 bucks - ouch) soooo, im thinking i can order the coilovers now, then wait on the shocks..but i guess it doesnt matter if i waited to put the coilovers on when i get the shocks, prolly smarter that way....not to mention i should HOPEFULLY have some wheels to go with it, which would throw some spin on things. (wheel diameter vs. camber) figure i should wait, and do it right ;) hopefully my federal tax money comes soon (i opted for direct deposit, they said 1-2 weeks - im getting 743 back from federal alone!!) so i think ill do this all then.
so, im thinking
GC Coilovers (269 on GBC.com)
Tokico Illumina shocks (around 400/set?)
ingalls front camber kit (130 bucks?)
Rear Camber kit (tho i *might* try the home-made method..)
rear strut tower (to match the front one - ~50 bucks)
should be a nice, tight ride. what do you guys think? is my pricing about right?

how about KYB AGX adjustable shocks? they any good? i see them on GBC for 340.00 shipped, or Tokico Illuminas for 425 shipped.. if Tokico blues arent much better than stock, should i just get either the KYBs, or the Tokicos? i'd rather pay 340-425 once, and not blow them, than save 100 bucks, only to spend another 300 when the blues blow out....i know this is drop dependant, im looking @ approx. 2-3" drop all the way around (dependant on which wheels i get)
i guess at this point, its between those two... KYB AGX, or Tokico Illuminas..koni yellows look nice, but they are 500 bucks....thats too much right now for shocks.
i'd like to go with the cheaper of the two (340 shipped for the KYB) so i can spend some money on other stuff (need a rear strut tower..and also i could use that money for an alignment..)
as for the coilovers...its now down to a matter of whats better: Skunk2, or GroundControl. Skunk2s are 250 bucks, with 20-25 for shipping, and GroundControls are 269 + 15.30 shipping. which is a better buy? i'd like to order this stuff asap (like, today..) so any help is appreciated.
