Looking at a 1990 Ceica GTS

Ok, so far from what I know (btw I just called him, didnt see it, seeing it later tonight)

But from what he told me it has 318,000 km's on it, but it had a new engine put in about 8 months ago (he bought it from someone). Anyways it has a cracked windshield and the fenders are a little damaged.

Ok for something with this many km's behind it, what should I look for? What major problems can it have? Of course I am not going to make a 100% decision untill I see it, but so far (from what he told me, so I'm taking everything he has said with a grain of salt), the sunroof doesnt leak, no rust (well hardly any) and very powerful engine. Power everything.

So exactly what should I inspect and how to inspect it? Let me know asap. Thanks!

what should I look for?

the engine is somewhat new--he says, but 318 is alot of miles on the body. check for rust EVERYWHERE frame/all underside, seams, inner doors etc. suspension parts can be costly, so can the cat,look for paint "cover-ups", painted (usually yellow) #s on the inside of door(s) indicating that part came from a junkyard. listen for any unusual sounds/noises (when accelerating,braking,shifting etc.)does it drive smooth,shift smooth?..ll that stuff should factor into your decision, but i guess it MAINLY depends on the price, which u forgot to mention. hope it helps dude/

very powerful engine? compared to a ricer civic maybe. the 5sfe is a good engine but not a very powerful one. if your lookin for a fast car dont get your hopes up.
