The shocks on my 1990 GM are going, and it is my intention to replace them or have them replaced. My question is, I have looked through all the resources I can find, and I can't seem to find any reference to the Struts.
Do this model have struts as I understand it, and about how much should I be paying to get either/both replaced?

I think it's regular shock absorbers; that's what my '93 had.
If you have any mechanical ability, you won't need to pay someone to change them. If you take a look underneath, you'll see it's easy to unbolt the bottom; jack up the front end, unbolt the shock, which will extend downward. Then you'll have the top to worry about. The nut on top will turn the shaft inside the shock, so get a vise grip or pipe wrench to hold that part still while you remove the top nut.
Once the top nut is off, the shock will slide out the bottom.
Installation is reverse; however there may be an angle to the mount on the shock, be sure to install the new one with the angle in the same position as the old one.
Hope that helps out.
