get at least a 500 watt sony xplod, and get a box with the right amount of air space, check the manufacturers requirements for airspace. build a box.

you will need two seperate amps for that job. a four channel amp for the 6.5in speakers, and a dedicated mono channel subwoofer amp for the subs.

you could run everything off a 4 channel with a crossover

so long as its two ohm stable you could, but your gonna have to make absolutely sure to keep it cool because its gonna be making alot of heat running that much current.

The lower the ohm setting you run an amp the more wattage you make but the more heat you make cause your getting closer to a short circuit(0ohms)
What is important is that you run you amp and speakers/subs at matching ohm settings or you will get huge power losses.
Also you do not need a mono block amp to run subs. People run mono block amps wit subs cause stereo does not matter with subs and the power is not as clean over the full range. So you can get more wattage for less money.

cd player should have enough power to supply your 6x9's. I got 2 12 inch power accoustic fubr series with 2 sony explode 6x9's and 2 pioneer 4x6. 1000 watt sony xplode amp. Sounds great. Make sure your cd player has atleast 48watts by 4.

Curious....I have been outta car stereos for a while now, so I figure I can ask.
Wouldn't most amps be 2-ohm stable now?? I mean, when I was into systems 8 years ago, I had two amps, one was 1-ohm stable and the other was .5-ohm stable.

yes but if not you can usually bridge the amp.

probly most of the high end expencive amps. I had to work on a budget and the majority of the amps i could afford were advertized as 4ohm stable and i had to work to find an affordable 2 ohm stable amp for my needs. Guess i know even less about stereo stuff than i originally thought.

stereos are pretty simple. I have had budget stereos that sounded better than some expensive stereos. I just make sure i got a cd player that puts out 50 or more per channle and the right size box for my subs.
never had any problems with any stereo. lightning cap works well to. stores extra juice for the amp and keeps headlights from dimming down.
