2003 explorer outer cv boot

I am trying to replace the right front outer cv boot, could someone tell me how to remove the outer half of the half shaft in order to install the new boot?

You can, I am pretty sure, buy an aftermarket "split" boot that goes on without removing the half shaft. Have you checked that out?

Saves a lot of work.
