fuel system problem

What's up folks? I have a HUGE problem with this car.

I have a 98 Cavalier 2.2. A few weeks ago I tried starting the car and it started up but died about 2 seconds later. This has been my unsolvable problem.

I thought it was the fuel pump so I got a new one, installed it, and still have the problem. So then I thought it was the fuel filter, changed it, still there. Checked the fuses, all good. My Dad told me to look at the fuel pressure regulator. I disconnected the fuel line from the fuel pressure regulator and turned the key in the ignition to the "on" position. My Dad said fuel should be continuously spraying through the fuel pressure regulator while the key is in the "on" position but it doesn't. There is a short burst of fuel as soon as the key is turned to the "on" position but that's it. So my Dad pointed me back to the fuel pump.

If anyone has any advice for the problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I looked up that problem in my cavalier book I have, and it listed a few things...
1. Loose or faulty electrical connections at ignition coil.
2. Insufficient fuel reaching the fuel injectors.(what you thought)
3. Vacuum leak at the gasket between the intake manifold/plenum and throttle body.
4. Fault in the engine control system.
5. Intake air leaks, broken vacuum lines.

See if it will start and run on ether so you can make the determination of whether it's a spark or a fuel problem.

If I spray carb cleaner into the intake it doesn't die out. I'm thinking it's the fuel injectors now. Does anyone know how to check/test the fuel injectors?

There is also a fuel pump relay...
