Just curious to see if I'm the only one on this site....

Die hard metal heads of the contemporary scene know what I mean. And for the life of me, I can't figure out why AF attracts ZERO metal heads. I've started several posts related to metal, and none of them have gotten any attention.

Sorry man, I find that metal stuff just to full of anger and resentment man, its just like, to much for me man.

Besides, Metal and computer geek/car nut dont usualy go together. (but there are clearly exceptions.)

Actually, I know quite alot of computer geek metal heads. I don't know about car nut metal heads though.....

There are car nut metal heads out there... however, there are probably few Honda nut metal heads :D

Okay... so tell me this: what kind of stuff do you guys listen to then? I'm sure that at least some of it is modern "alternative," a lot of which is at least metal-derivative music, right?

I listen to news radio because I hate today's music. There are some bands I like, and some other songs I like, but it's just not worth listening to the reat of the crap on the airwaves. If I had my choice I'd listen to a lot more jazz, but the station doesn't come in too clear where I live, and they're always asking for money, so it's like a big long commercial. :(

ACDC, ZZTop, The Stones, Dio, Aretha Franklin, BB King. Those styles are just right.

Im a big floyd fan, and of course most music from that era, Cream, Hendrix, etc. As for modern Music, well its a bit off the main stream. Mostly a Lot of Kiwi Music, Portished, Collective Soul, Some Pearl Jam, Some Nirvana, Some Black Crows, Chillis, Some U2, (when Bono isnt stoned). Iv got some really odd ball kiwi punk from the early 80s that is pretty cool. DO a search in Napsta for Tall Dwarfs, and you may find some of it.
(most of the TRUE metalers at school were Nerds, but then that could be the school I went do.) :D

i listen to talib kweli, big L, common, mos def, atmosphere, 12 jewelz, deltron, akbar, d.i.t.c............ mostly juss underground hip hop

and i don't feel like gettin into an arguement wit you guys right now about how rap is garbage and all that bullshit

all i have to say is that there is good hip hop and there is bad, most of the rap you hear on the radio is shit..... i listen to underground which imo is the good shit

This is an old thread, that I started way back in the day to test the waters for maggots. Back then, seems I was the only one :( But now, it seems like there is a small following at AF. So, I just wanted to bring this thread back to the first page of OT to see if some more will come out of the woodwork.

The only metal that I like is the old metallica stuff like:

Master Of Puppets
Ride The Lightning
And Justice For All

I hope that is what you meant as "metal".

I dont like alot of the new stuff tho :(

i also like slipknot, endo, pressure 4-5, powerman5000, cold, staind, crossbreed, adema, tool, taproot, finger eleven, default, nickelback, and a bunch more. yeah i know some of those werent really metal but i like others too!

I remember seeing PM5k way back in highschool when they opened for Korn, before Korn turned material girl.

i liked korns 1st cd but that was about it, lately theyve really sucked

One things for sure I aint no metal head, I tend to like indie and dance music

Dance/techno rules my world, but I guess stuff on the hard side of "alternative" is the next best. I just bought the newest Nickelback CD 2 weeks ago, and I have some other stuff like that too. Linkin Park is currently one of my #1 bands, every single song on the CD is awesome...

The music is good, the band can go f*** themselves as far as I'm concerned...they have 0 respect from me after the whole mp3 fiasco.

Actually...I play in a metal band. I don't really care for it, I'm just happy to be playing. I LISTEN to stuff like...Hoobastank, Rusted Root, Dave Matthews...for the full list check out my replies to "driving music" in the CAR AUDIO forum

and Moppie- I Liked Legolas because I've been shooting Bow since I was 7, and i absolutely SUCK. he can do it (even if it is Acting, he had to TRAIN to act to do it. so that's why IIII like about some Damn Gay elf named Legolas.

I must be in the minority... I like just about everything Korn has ever released. First album did kick a lot of ass, though. I've heard their next album (some time this year) will have a somewhat "Pink Floyd" sound to it. I'm definitely curious....

On topic tho, the old metallica is about the only metal I still listen to. I used to listen to alot of different types of music, infact I used to love alot of the Biohazard stuff, but ive gotten away from it lately.

Metallica has a few good songs, and that's that. No more, no less.

I like Linkin Park a LOT along with Staind, Nickelback, Dave Matthews Band, and a bunch of other different groups. I like the majority of "Top 40" type music, but after a week it's so overplayed and I hate it. I wish I could get XM but I'm sure even that gets old quickly....
