i have a 82 305 out of a caprice with 80,000 miles on it......starting to add performance mods.. how much can i plain the heads down for better compression without having the valves hit the pistons??

well, im basically talking out of my ass cuz i dont really know for sure, but i would say no more than .02 inches. are you miling the heads for more compression? if so, you would be better off switching to an aftermarket piston with less dish and thus leave the heads alone.

That's a "Different" looking Camaro....

How much you can mill your heads depends on a few factors. Piston deck, type of pistons..dished, flattops or domed, cam lift, gasket thickness. and remember if the heads are milled you'll have to get the intake milled too to maintain its seal on the heads and block, front & back.
