gas odor

I have 95 LT w/142kmi and after every engine shut-off on a hot day I smell gas under the hood,gas cap is new and I have no "service engine soon" light on.Please help,summer is around the corner...

okay i have a 90, and it has a black cannister up on the drivers side just behind the drill or battery, anways it is part of the gas tanks venting system and send uncharges gas vapors to the carb system, now check these little black hoses for crack right at the connections and follow them back to the carb u nit, that took care of my problem
