OK i have researched and done some homework and to me the output and reliabilty look about the same sorta. I have a 96 HX (good lightweight platform) with a 00 b18c1 motor. mated to a 00 si tranny (short ratio rocks) anyways i am wantng to get great hp out of my car and do not know which way to go both look almost the same. I have ,CAI ,Header 4-2-1 ,Xuast ,VAFC Vtec COntroller Lightweight flywheel, lightweight crank pulley and 6 puck clutch. i was wanting to know should i boost or go all motor pistions cams valvetrain for high reving 3 angle valve job, head port and polish and such and try the n/a route or just boost it. your thoughts please as far as money goes that not a big facotr but one to be considered. i just want reliabilty (daily driver) and about 250 hp. thanks for any and all thoughts good or bad.

Since you have a Si tranny and some N/A parts you should just keep it the way it is and just get more N/A parts. You should have a nice 1/4 mile time with what you have right now already.

Whats your budget? Because if it isnt very high, turbo might be the way to go. NA power isn't cheap. BUT, since you've already got a header, CAI, and the high geared Si trans you should pry just stay with NA. With some high comp pistons, cams, and port/polish you'll have a great engine.

Yeah i thought pistions maybe 11.1 comp or 11.3 but thats kinda high stage 2 cams cannot decide between skunk 2 and crower. and then good port and polish 2 will help but should i do valve train and go all out and get like 9 or 10k reving valves or stick with my 8k stuff also thoughts on 3 angle valve job and is MSD stuff good or stay stock? also any other good bolt ons that i cannot think of also gonna chip ecu.

both ways can net you alot of power 250WHP n/a will be alot and not very good on street.
out of cams i'd go Crower don't bother MSD its a waste unless F/I Honda did there stock stuff way beyond what was needed and will hold the most evil N/A builds.

11.1 is good. As for cams i'd go crower, i've heard some bad things about Skunk2 cams. As for valve train-maybe a few things but all out will mean less low end power, and since this is your daily driver, having no low end will suck for stop and go. Upgrading the ignition would be good, but not really needed. Stock ignition is decent.

i would also go with crower, i have a few friends with crower cams and they are very happy. as far as skunk; well, the name says it all

NA is hard and everything needs to flow correctly there are too many variables and it takes a very skilled engine builder to build a na monster such as the one you are looking for. i would seriously consider a supercharger. Not so much a turbo because the valves are not stainless steel and will create a lot of heat. where as a supercharger creates heat but not as much as a turbo set up. with forced induction you do not need to know flow numbers or valve angle degrees for optimum flow. if i had a b18c i would leave the head basically stock except the valves and springs, and get an aebs sleeved block and boost the shit out of it. na engine building is just too hard, and expensive. i you mess up on the head time to throw it away and try again.

consider compression because any kind of blower needs low compression for optimal use....consider a nos setup instant power

"NOS" as you call it is just as harmful as boost. The maximum "shot" of nitrous you'll be able to run on a semi-stock engine is 50-75, where as 75 is really starting to push it.

250hp n/a will be expensive as fuck, and you'll still have no torque. Boost it and you'll have some torque making it a fun car.. about as fun as fwd gets I guess.

yeah... and since its gonna be your daily driver...n/a might not be a good idea... once you start putting those parts in your gas milage is going downhill...

sorry NITROUS OXIDE SYSTEM and he wasnt talking about haveing a stock motor it would be ideal beacause he can use it as a daily driver but have that extra power when he wants it.keep in mind he is asking for suggestions not criticism JERK

I said nothing that should have made you mad. I only corrected you, and added more info to what you said.

AHAHA LoL. Verry funny. But it is ok to call nitrous "NOS" because just think of it. People call a copy machine xerox even thought it's just a brand and not actually what it really is you get what I'm saying. Xerox is just the brand that makes it so why do people call it a Xerox? It's actually just a copy machine. Same goes with the nitrous/NOS thing. So call it what ever you want we know what you mean, but if you don't want to sound so newb you should just call it nitrous.
