Le Mans Contest

Just wondering who is still in this thing? lots of threads are old with no progress at all. Im ready! got the the chassis/interior done. Body is 99%. my only hold up is that i glued on the side skirts before painting so body doesnt fit fit but ill figure it out :nono: itys going to be a stressful night.... im afraid all the windows are going to pop off when i stress the body around the chassis :crying: oh well.

so besides the obvious.... whos still in???? 3 days and count.... tick tick tick tick...

I'm on dialup so I decided to spend hours working on mine instead of uploading pictures. I finished this afternoon, and I am getting ready to snuggle in with a cold drink, some tunes, and my computer's upload button for next several hours....

Yeah it looks like an awful lot of people won't get their models finished in time. A bit of a shame but I can understand how other things come up. I almost didn't get mine done either.

At any rate, while the number of entries will be on the small side, the quality should more than make up for it.

I guess what i meant was.... are there any other late entries such as mine. yeah, willimo i assumed you were going to finish. hmmm hmm

I couldn't finish. Just lost motivation, so I've put it aside for a while and will try to switch to something else for a bit. I'll definitely finish, but not in time for the contest.

I have a few Le Mans projects, but decided not to run. The last few months were hectic because of my 05 Mustang model.
Will there be another one in 2006? :)

I understand that the motorsport section is going to host a contest each year or so, depending on how the turnout is for this one, but with a different race (or series or sport or whatever) each time. Ie, this was Lemans, next might be F1 or MotoGP or something else fun.

The really sad thing is that most people with unfinished models will get inspiration after watching the race and finish them soon after. Sadly, this will be too late. If there's enough why not put up a post-le mans comp for these guys. Whatdya think mods? For the effort some of these guys have put in it'd be a shame not to let them enter something.

I for one am not going to be able to finish my in progress builds. They are quite close to completion, but due to exams (one tomorrow) I won't be able to make the deadline, well, there are more inportant things in life eh!

Plus I don't build for competitions, but for my display cabinet, so I don't really care that much ( a little, I do! )

I'm still in it, I just finished mine last night. As said earlier in the thread, other things come up and my business is taking up all of my time just lately. So, the progress thread took a dive as I wanted to use my spare time to finish the model but the finished thread should be coming soon.

My entry was finished few months ago, so, I'm definitely in!

Yeah, The problem is the deadline is 4 o'clock in France which is 8 am here, I've literally just taken the photographs and will upload them later tonight!!!! I'll be there!!!

I'm keen to do another contest next year. Don't know if it will be Le Mans again. Maybe Formula One, WRC or something completely different.
