Dash Lights on and off

I have a 99 alero and at least 3 times a day the dash lights will come on and go off. Has anyone seen this before and if so what was the problem?

There may be a short behind the dimmer switch. Every time I go to use the dimmer switch in my car, even just lightly putting my finger on the switch, the dash lights will flicker. I, personally, would say that would be your issue.
