This is a Tamiya Snap-lock kit. No, don't laugh, it's actually very well detailed. In fact it is about as good as, if not better, than some normal Fujimi kits i've had. And more good news was that the wheels where female so i can use some Fujimi wheels i had laying around. Actually i will be using the ones that came with the 1995 Integra which i didn't use. The idea behind getting this kit in the first place was to do some body mods, so that is what i will be doing.
Here are some preliminary snaps.

The wheels are hindered a bit by the underside so i will have to take some of that away.

You might be right there. But they are in scale with the car so it would be possible on a real one. I was thinking of widening the car though so maybe they won't look too bad.

Heres some actual progress on the City GG. I took the bumpers off (very carefully) and then took the front wings/fenders off, stuck some styrene strip in and then glued the wings back on. Next thing to do is the rear wings/ fenders. I was thinking of doing them a bit like a skyline R32. I'll probably use the same method as the front ones (romove the panels, stick some styrene in and then put them back on. When both the front and rear panels are done i will smooth over them with some putty and move on to the side skirts.

Niiice. What a cool little car! Gotta say, though, if giving it a full body kit, I'd use the stock little wheels.

Nice progress! Paint it Spoon Yellow and give it a black lip on the front and a black wing on the back! Just kidding. Don't make a Spoon City GG. Though, that would be kind of funny...

I like this rear wings solution, but do you make back wings little broader ?

The back wings will also be broader, yes. I will hopefully do it today and have some pictures up tonight.

Thanks for looking in.

Looks very nice man. That wide front end makes it look very aggressive. You should mabe give it a drift look like the EF drifter by falken.
Good Luck.

This isn't the EF "drifter" but its one of the fastest FF cars in Japan. J's Racing CRX, notice the front fenders widened.

Some progress albeit quite slow. I am now in the process of puttying and sanding. Not my favourite past-time i must say.

I am using this Tamiya putty http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/203672PICT1823.jpg, Which i am finding quite tricky to use. Any tips would be great, thanks.

lol. You should see the wheels that came with it. Which i suppose you can in the very first picture. :grinyes:
The trouble is that the shafts are not long enough so they look a bit wonky and too far in. Also i will lower it when the time comes.
I am now in the process of filling in the sun roof.
I am thinking of ordering the drift parts set for the wing mirrors, as the ones in the box are huge.
Then i have to do the bumpers. OMG!! Ever have the feeling you've taken on a little too much? :screwy:

Q: are you going to leave the molded-in wipers or cut 'em off and put PE?

That, my friend, is a very good question. I hadn't even thought about that. But considering the amount of work i have left and the amount of work i have done so far i think i will leave them. They shouldn't look too bad when painted i don't think.

Tikiman

Some Progress for those who are interested. The body is about done, with mostly just fine sanding to do. Getting a bit tired of that so i started on the bumpers. These also need just some fine sanding and then a couple of bits added.

one question though, when you cut the side fenders, did you cut it straight or did you follow its curves(do i make sense?)?

nice work.

The rear ones i cut straight. Just behind the door and just under the window and the front ones i cut across the top edge and followed the line of the door at the front.
Does this answer your question?

Hers a diagram, the yellow line being the cut line.

Some updating here. Hopefully very close to completion. I wasn't thinking of doing anymore to it, but that is mainly because it is taking too long already. I would quite like to do some air intakes on the front bumper, at the sides and maybe one behind the door. Maybe next time. The doors came off so that i could shape the rear fenders easier. Let me know what you think.

Thanks all for the comments. Very encouraging.

That City Turbo looks pretty cool. I was thinking of getting one of those next. Also i was thinking of putting little air ducts on the rear fenders, but i have been working on this for about a month i think, so i just want to get it finished. Maybe i will do another one and do it slightly diferently.
