i found cables running to the trunk and i figured they were for a cd changer. so i bought a cd changer and hooked it up. but, there are mounting brackets on the cd changer but i dont know how to mount it. can anyone post pictures of how they have their cd changer mounted in the trunk?

by the way, its the stock cd changer with the carpeted case and mounting brackets.

There's this little ditch between your back seats and the actual trunk. It's mounted in the center of that little area. If you look for Hotshots battery relocation thread, his battery is mounted where the stock CD changer is at. I'd post pics but unfortunately, I don't have a digi-cam. :(

I have a 12 disc changer there, and it isn't even mounted...it just sits there snuggly

Yeah I was having this problem, I found where it mounts and mounted it, but I can't figure out how to get that carpet cover thing to mount w/ it...without having to cut holes in it that is.

when i uninstalled mine it mounted underneith the trunk cover..i had to unscrew where the cover mounts ...and those mounting brackets on the CD changer where slid under and mounted along with the cover

if that makes any sense

oh, and the carpet should already have the cutouts in it...where did you get it?

The cover came with it when I bought it so did the cd changer....I know what you mean by where the two tabs on the changer mount under the cover mount....does your cover have velcro on it?

do you remember if that went over or under the changer? Mine has no cutouts...well it does but they are in no way close to anything useful.

i mounted my cd changer to the back of the rear right seat. i took off the carpet backing, bought some metal stock pieces from Lowe's, and fabricated my own metal mount. i then replaced the carpet backing and mounted the cd changer. my method was to have 4 long bolts secured in the metal bracket underneath extending out of the seat. then i simply placed the cd changer on these bolts and tightened it down with butterfly bolts. works great and looks good too. if anyone would like to see pics, let me know.

I see what cover you're talking about privatebean, I have that one on there just fine. I'm talking about the carpet that covers the whole trunk, the carpet that the cd changer is supposed to sit on. That part is sitting on top of my changer instead of under because there are no holes for the mounting tabs on the cd changer or for the screws that go through the other mounting tabs. You have 4 mounting screws holding yours in right?

if you mount the cd changer there in the middle behind both seats, then you gotta get up outta your seat, go around to the hatch, and pull the cd magazine out....bleh! too much work.

so i just mounted mine on the back of the right rear seat. from the front seat i can easily reach the lever to lean the back seat forward, then simply access the cd magazine from the changer. i'll post pics soon.
