I have replaced my water pump and my thermostat. My car still overheats when I first drive for about 5 minutes. I noticed my coolant will bubble after I shut my car off. After about 5 minutes I will turn it back on, and it will be around the 210 in stop and go traffic. I am so confused.. Please help.

I'm wondering. If your car is overheating. And you shut it off for five mins. Then turn it back on, the temp gauge would be hotter then when you turned it off. The temp of the motor goes up when it's turned off, due to the heat built up in the motor. If it was into the red, five mins later, it would still be there.

After it cools, take the cap off it and see if water is moving. If not, may still have bad Tstat or the rad. is gone.
How many miles on you car?
Let us know. Good luck.

That's not bad for the year. I'd check to make sure water is moving thru rad. Oh, what Tstat are you running, 195? If water is moving well, you may want to run 180.
Is coolant level staying up?
Good luck.

Yeah its a 195. Coolant level fluctuates. Just like the temp gauge. It will go up and down.

Did you bleed the air off after you did the work? Does it bubble everytime you shut it off? I recently drained out some coolant so I could add water and didnt bleed the system. After driving around for awhile in extreme heat, I turned it off and noticed the bubbling coming from the overflow tank. It was air bleeding out of the system. It did it that one time and now it fine.

Yeah I bleed it an everything.. I am afraid it might be a crack head. But nothing else seems to be working.

That's way I wanted to know if your coolant was staying up.

But go ahead, I just want to listen.

What we have to do is send all the women over there. Then have them get credit cards in their names. They'll be so broke, they won't be able to buy uniforms.
