In progress Impreza WRX STi

Was at a bit of a loss what do to next after finishing my Pro-touring projects so to seek inspiration I opened up the wardrobe, stared at the far too many kit boxes for awhile & decided to have a go at this one. It's the Tamiya kit pretty much out of the box except where I've modified the front & rear bumpers slightly with Tamiya epoxy putty (the rear bumper still needs sanding down). I painted it silver but was too impatient and sprayed the clearcoat before the silver had dried properly resulting in a reaction in the paint :uhoh: -so here it is looking sorry for itself prior to being resprayed. Wheels are Racing Hart CR's and the hood wil probably be c/f'd.

Just a quick update - I've rubbed down the paint & re-primered and done a bit of work on the rear bumper - I can't recall which kit the front cannards came from. Will try & get some paint on it over the weekend.

Why these photos are so sharp?

The new pics are a big improvement, at least in showing the body modifications. I'm diggin' the splitters and wing.

On the subject of the wing, can you tell me where you got it? I need one exactly like it for my Eclipse kit.

Those cannards are Aoshima items; I had some in an Aristo GT Wing kit. Great progress so far Andy!!:sunglasse

Managed to spray it up in Nissan Silver today - I've also modified the front grille slightly (which I'll try & c/f together with the hood & trunk). Going to go with the stock wing as I want the other one for a Silvia I'm working on. Just hope when I clearcoat it that it the paint doesn't react again!.

Beautiful! Wow, that is just crazy;) That rear bumper came out soo good too!

Made a bit of progess on this one - paint has been polished out, window trim sprayed, hood,trunk & grill decalled. I was going to use the standard wing but imo it looked a bit odd being silver against the c/f trunk - I might try to c/f the stock wing but I've run out of c/f decal atthe moment - I'll see how it goes.
