HELP. Cooling Fan does not work

So this guy side swiped my baby on the passenger side, and destroyed the fender and the bumper. Since then, the engine is getting very hot, and realised the fan in front of the radiator does not come ON. With the hit, some electric cables got smashed in, so one light does not work. NEway I traced electric cable running from the base of the fan, that prongs into a "Y" and going towards the passenger side and connecting to two gadgets sitting bolted on the inside of the passenger fender. One, I think may be the sensor and the other looks like a funny three prong connector. The funny three prong connector got disconnected from the impact, so I connected it back, while the other connector (not sure if this is the sensor) is still connected.

Did not get to test if by connecting the three prong connector resolved my problem, but can anyone tell me if anything else needs to be looked at, to mend it. Fuse is OK.

Make sure + wires in circuit are all connected together (with or without the relay from the fender wall... you don't need it) and take the black wire from the fan motor and ground it to the chassis (or t off of the existing ground wires). The fan will come on with the ignition. Nothing else needs to be done unless you want to mess with it and chance your engine overheating...

the relay could have been damamaged in the accident.
