The other day i overheated my 1980 z28 because the belt came off of the water pump. Now i think im burning oil and im leaking gear oil. Lucas Oil Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer says it will fix both problems. If anyone has ever used it please tell me how good it works. thanx.

I had my vacuum modulator go out on my daily driver a few weeks ago.

After I replaced it, the damage to the trans was pretty well done, slipped quite a bit, and looked like it needed a rebuild. With no time to mess with it and not sure how much longer I'd have the car, I figured what they heck and tired it. AFter a day of different driving contitions the trans stopped slipping and has given any indication of problems.

Now, is it a permanent fix? Probably not.
Is it a correct fix? Definately not.
Any long term effects? Couldn't tell ya.

But as far a temp get by fix, works well, just like a fix a flat and top engine cleaner (mechanic in a can).

Oh, and for stopping a leak, I guess that would all depend on how big the leak really is. Prbably a front main seal?

I've heard quite a few people have good results. Me, I think you just jinxed, trans started screwing up again this morning. There goes my weekend.

it's definately not a permanent fix, but as far as additives go, lucas makes some of the best products commonly available.
