I had two questions about the later style spoiler (hoop)..
The first would be has anyone purchased and used the remakes of it availiable on ebay? and if so how was the quality?
and the second might anyone have one off a GSX/GST for sale? Where did everyone get theirs if they say off other cars.. junk yards?

yeah the turbo spoiler I want to put one on my spyder before I have it painted. Get it all done at once. I know most cars came with them but I've seen alot of cars that drive around with them on GS's and even 3-4 RS's in the past week. So I presume they are def aftermarket unless you coudl get that on like the 99 special edition (but I don't recall if they even did that for RS/GS)

I'd buy an OEM used one off of E-Bay. Junk yards are expensive for our cars. I just don't trust OEM replica stuff, it's hit and miss. The spoilers were available on 97-99 turbo trims.
Attaching the new spoiler isn't as easy as it seems. The old holes aren't the ones used by the new spoiler. That means the old holes need to be filled, and new ones need to be drilled. It's also more of an art than a science to attach the spoiler as it looks from the factory. Frequently people who do the 97 conversion opt not to do the spoiler for these reasons. It can be done, though :)
Again, I'd go with OEM from E-bay. They don't come up often, but when they do, you'll be saving some money. Good luck.

As long as they're not a 95-96, and not snky. You can also look for the exhaust; 2g turbos have dual tips, if they're stock. On second thought, that might not be helpful, who has a 2g 4g63 without upgraded exhaust?

wheels, side view mirrors, door handles, spoiler, and other features. Gs's can be tricky.

thanks for all the feedback. My spyder has dual tip exhaust but only a gs I dunno if that counts towards refuting the dual tip claim.
I'll wait for one to pop up. Yes I know it takes alot. I was going to remove the old one put plates tackwelded to the interior to fill the holes. Then bondo the top. Drive around for a feww weeks let it sink in. Rebondo repeat and if still flat then have the paint done. I'm having the whole car done in a dark dark grey. Black shows dirt to much and I needed something to go with the top and my blue/black interior theme (I have blue led undercar lights also) So I think that will work and maybe some neon flames up front lol.. I can't decide. The flames seem a bit much to me but my parents keep insisting that i need them lol.

you can't go by if it has a turbo wing or some wheels. you never know who's upgrading their car to "look" like a turbo.

Some of the OZ edition GS models came with the turbo spoiler.
All of the 1999 10th Anniversary Edition GS models did. Mine was one of them. One of the reasons I bought the car, looks like a turbo eclipse. I know that sounds bad, but I just liked how it looked compared to the regular factory wheels and low rise spoiler, since I probably wouldn't have the money to upgrade the wheels for awhile. I think it came with a little bit of an upgraded exhaust too, but not for sure. Sounds a little deeper than some other N/T I have seen/driven, and the tip and everything is stock. Basically a GST model with a 420a. Don't you think it would have been smarter to make the 10th Anniversary model a GST or GSX, or maybe all models?
On a similar note, someone took one of the fuckin center caps on my OZ wheel, and I can't find them anywhere. Satan is gonna charge me like $40 for 4 of them, which is BS, and they won't sell me an individual one. Bastards. Anybody know where I can get one? I checked ebay with no luck.

Ahhh yes. Spyders with dual exhausts and turbo spoilers. Shpyder at yer service sir.
I purchased OEM turbo spoilers, both already red, for both my spyders. A few scratches here and there, but for $200 shipped AND painted the color I wanted, what a great deal. As for the remakes, I would rather rough it out and wait for a few days for an OEM turbo spoiler to show up...and there's ALWAYS a turbo spoiler up for grabs on ebay, you just have to shop and keep looking every day! I would assume the remakes would be cheaper quality...

I'll say it again i love your car :p
thats the general consensus (sp?) so I'm just gonna stick it out on ebay and keep checking.

Absolutely... the thing with e-ay is persistence...you simply have to be checking back and forth and eventually something will show up. I had to wait about 3 weeks each time for a red, pre-painted, OEM hoop spoiler showed up. It was worth it each time.

What if the ebay sellers fake it out? Lets say they have the fake non factory spoiler and just painted it and say it was the real factory oem spoiler. There are people out there that would do it. Just watch out.

Well, most of the used spoilers that are already pre-painted for sale on ebay are all OEM...people take them off their GSTs and GSXs when they upgrade to a different spoiler... you can communicate with the seller and they'll usually tell you where the spoiler came off from.
Good feedback sellers are usually safe, in my experience; in 3 years, I have bought and sold items totalling $5000, with 60+ feedback... no bad experience yet, but you have to be careful. Communication is the key. If the ad looks cheap, bad english, doesn't reply to emails, lots of negative feedback, I usually stay away.

oh I got the ebay thing covered I actually bought my car from there.. So I'm pretty good with detecting crap. The car came out nice, a small problem. The Cat converter died on the way home . No big deal was as promised. So I'm sure I can nab a spoiler.

I found one but it doesn't come with mounting hardware. Just the spoiler is the hardware anything different then some bolts? Or should I wait for one to come along that has both.
My second question is If I'm going to have the car painted.. Would I have it painted with it on the car or off the car? I figure if I leave it on and they paint then under the spoiler would still be black (my car color now) and not blue.. Not that this would make a difference unless I removed the spoiler but I was just wondering..

"Mouting hardware" means only nuts and bolts that you can find in any hardware store, unless they're talking about that sofet padding you put between the spoiler and the body (you can fabricate that yourself from any weatherprrof material I guess).
The paint issue is your call. I would say, get the spoiler mounted, and have the holes left by your stock 3-pc filled in and painted over (professional body shop work I guess). I still have the holes from the stock spoiler, they have plastic bolts squeezed into them to make sure no water gets through. My 2 cents is for you to mount the spoiler, shave the holes, and paint the whole thing.
