i just bought a 2000 ford ranger extd cab and has 43000 miles on it and decided to do some maintanance work on it. i was going to change the plugs in it, but those plugs won't budge with a 1/4 in. ratchet. i have changed plugs before, but these are in there. i don't wan't to break the plugs at the porclean.i wonder the last time he changed these. enough space to get a extention onto the socket.any ideas to get these loose.

Use a 3/8 long handled ratchet.

Plugs usually break due to the socket not being seated properly when it's being turned. Follow Way2Old's advice and you might also use a plug socket (padded inside) if you're worried about breaking the plug.

take the front tires off and remove the flimsy rubber flap in the wheel wells - the plugs will be right out in the open - you also need to use a real ratchet - 1/4 inch is kinda small for the job
