O2 sensor and CEL Question?!?!? Huh?

When I installed my exhaust, I ended up breaking the second O2 sensor while trying to remove it. No biggy... Ill just buy a new one. So, of course, the CEL goes on the next day and has stayed on. The other day, I turned on the car, and the CEL was off. I didn't reset or disconnect the battery. I then came on later. 2 days ago, I turn on the car and the CEL stayed off, and has stayed off since then. I've put over 300 miles on the car since 2 days and the CEL is still off. Im kinda worried here. I don't think that this is good. The wires (exposed I might ad) and tucked away up in the underbody. Any idea on why the light is off? I was thinking maybe a short, but IDK. Thanks.

On my car, I got a CEL every day for a few months. After that, it just stopped coming on. Some cars get lucky, some not so lucky. I wouldnt worry about it. I would fix the exposed wire thing though. Having no CEL wont mean shit if the car burns to the ground ;)
