I need to replace it on my 94 JGC 6 cy. Parts guy wants the number off of it.

The PCM is located on the Passenger side of the firewall in the engine compartment, behind the Coolant reservoir. 3 bolts hold it in place and 1 bolt connects the wiring harness.

May I ask what is the problem that the PCM needs replaced.

I have both of the common probs for 94 jgc (160k) that have been referred to here frequently: "crank but no start" and stall for no reason. Got a good source for PCM if my guy doesn't come through?

Sounds like a bad CPS (CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR). I would say it is deffinately the Crank Sensor because of the stalling, I haven't seen any issues of stalling related to a bad PCM and the CPS is cheaper.

Thanks. I knew a bad cps was a possibility. What is the test to pinpoint it as the problem? Is there a code?

there really isn't nayway to pinpoint it. I have a test to test the CPS but it really won't help in your situation because the CPS failure is ocassional. you could test it when it will not start. I would the CPS is your problem because of the stalling (RPMS drop to 0) while driving, I haven't seen this happen because of a bad PCM.

If you email me

I can send you the test for the CPS (remember to test it when the engine won't start.
