I bought a Canon powershot SD400 on Sunday. It will be here Thursday, along with a 512mb card. Got it from dell for $409 total shipped overnight. Although I don't have a docking station, I have DSMlink :P

i looked at that one at Compusa. its a nice, small, compact camra and i would drop it!! i decided to go with this one becasue it was the only camra under $500 is saw that had 10x optical zoom and 5.0 mega pix.

Yeah there is a market for super zoom cameras... I didn't need it too much. Of the 5MP cameras I liked this one because it's really small and supposed to be high quality. Here is a link to a sample image (2600x2000). Keep in mind it was from handheld, which is difficult to keep from shaking and bluring.

Of all the digital cameras that I've used, Sony has had the fastest microprocessor power. Quickest startup, quickest review, quickest delete, everything.

Does anyone know about the digital SLR's and how they stack up? I have about 600 to spend, also from the DSM fund. I'm tired to taking family/friend pictures with a disposable camera.

The 1g on fire pictures convinced my that the Rebel is a nice buy.

If you want a great quality camera that you can take with you anywhere check out the Sony Cybershot DSC-T7. I have last years model I think, I chose it because I got a great deal on it, because they were just trying to introduce the news ones and get rid of the old. http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=VQ8rJKeoOJIrOeUYAiQhL-imwtDaad4bUIk=?ProductSKU=DSCT7&INT=sstyle-dcc_DIDigitalCamerashero-DSCT7

I love it. It can fit comfortably in your pocket or ladies purse, and it takes great quality shots at 5.0MP. It only has a 3X optical zoom, but hey, who really needs it? I never use it.

Some people dont want a small camera and that is cool, but if you want to be able to take shots wherever you go, and have great quality. This is an amazing choice.

Nice pics scottsee!

I love my Sony Cybershot DSC-W1. Takes great pics, and it also does short little mpeg movies.

When you want better than a $300-400 5.0-7.0MP camera, you will be going to something like a digital rebel SLR. Expect to pay $600+ for the camera and a few hundred for a lens.

I was deciding between the W5 (about the same as W1) and my SD400, the deciding factor was that sony's memory is more expensive. The W (wide lens) series by Sony has 2.5'' LCD's though... and the T1/T7 also has this 2.5'' LCD and 5.0MP as well.

I get my SD400 tomorrow at this time, so I'll take some pictures of my now stock 97 TSI.
